Mini Album & Instructions

Today's project is a great little mini album from a Late Night Stampers event during convention 2011. I used it as a  Hostess Club project for this month.  I changed up the colors and the front decorations. For my mini album I started with a 12 X 12 piece of Sahara Sand Card Stock, I also used Marina Mist, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla card stock as my coordinating colors. I added Crumb Cake Ribbon to my tags. I used Chocolate Chip Ink to stamp an image from the new Apothecary Art stamp set. I punched out the label on the Big Shot using the new Labels Collection Framelits Die.

1.    Starting with your 12X12 base, score lines at 3”, 6” & 9” in both directions, creating 12 squares on your page.
2.    Cut on orange marked lines creating a big M.

3.    Use bone folder to crease each of the following folds.  Keep squares lined up on top of each other.  Starting on the bottom left side of your M fold #1 square on top of square #2.  Accordion fold to the top of row 1.  Fold row 1 under row 2.  Accordion fold to the bottom of row 2.  Fold row 2 under row 3.  Accordion fold to the top of row 3.  Fold row 3 under row 4. Accordion fold to the bottom of row 4.

4.    You will have a front and back cover on your book.  You’ll make 7 pockets.  The pockets open every other one on top then on the side, making 4 top opening and 3 side opening pockets.

5.    Apply sticky strip close to edges leaving room for your tag to fit inside.  As you look at the folds you will be able to see which 2 sides to apply the sticky strip, to make the pocket.

6.    Using the 1” circle punch, punch ½ circle  in center of side with opening.  Don’t punch the covers.

7.    Punch 11 strips with Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch on 6 ½” card stock

8.    Adhere chipboard pieces to center back side of embossed card stock.

9.    Cut corners of embossed paper about 1/8” from corner of chip board.

10. Fold embossed paper around chip board and adhere using Sticky Strip

11. Cut 2 corners off 2” x 3”  pieces of card stock to make tags. You need 7 tags

12. Sponge front and back of each tag.  Sponge edges of Dotted Scallop Ribbon borders, outside of book covers, around each page of the book except the front and back where the covers will be attached, if desired.

13. Punch hole in each tag with large punch on Crop-A-Dile.

14. Tie small bow close to end of piece of ribbon, it’s easier to tie it before you cut it. Keep it close to the end or you won’t have enough for all the tags.  Cut remaining ribbon into 7 - 4 ½” pieces.

15. Fold 4 ½“ pieces of ribbon in half and put folded end into front of tag.  Insert two ends through loop gently pull tight.

16. Cut 6 ½”  pieces of dotted scalloped ribbon in half.  Attach pieces on each page of book, t rim excess off outside edges.  Attach pieces to tags and trim.

17. Continue decorating your album as you desire: Use stamps, punches, embellishments and more to make it completely unique!

For Front:
1.    Stamp image from Apothecary Art in coordinating color

2.    Use Big Shot, Labels Collection to punch out

3.    Stamp saying from Loving Thoughts in coordinating color on coordinating card stock, cut out, trim corners &  attach to label with dimensionals

4.    Attach any embellishments as desired
