Gift Giving with Designer Paper

Ever since Stampin Up published their retired lists I have been working at using up all my retiring products, especially designer paper. I love Stampin Up's designer paper and so I have a lot of it. I used up quite a bit last week for Hostess Club by making a "Gift Giving" set. The set includes a gift bag made using 2 sheets of designer paper, a litle box made with coordinating card stock with a top made of coordinating designer paper and of course a matching card! It was a great project. I hope you enjoy it.

Instructions to make the "Gift Giving" trio -

Gift Bag w/Topper
  1. Start with 2 matching designer papers 8 1/2” square
  2. Lay both pieces together so outside design of bag is face-to-face and opposite top/bottom if the pattern requires
  3. Score both pieces at 1/2”, 2” & 3 1/2”
  4. Fan fold starting with smallest fold going in
  5. Turn 1 piece of paper over so folds are on the left and the right with insides together
  6. Adhere small fold and attach to other sheet on both edges
  7. Flatten papers & score bottom at 1” - fold in and cut corners for tabs
  8. From inside; put cardboard base (5” X 2 7/8”) at bottom with SNAIL adhesive
  9. Fold bag for storage, creasing as it folds
  10. Cut matching card stock 5”X4”, scored at 2” for topper
  11. Use edge punch on both sides of topper
  12. Punch holes in top using Crop-A-Dile for ribbon & topper
  13. Add coordinating ribbon and tie
Box Bottom
  1. Card stock 11”X 8 1/2”
  2. Score at, 4” & 2 3/4” on long & short sides respectively  to create a 3” square in the middle of the card stock
  3. Cut on the short sides
  4. Fold into box with tall sides out, making your box 4” tall on each side.
  5. Adhere together with Sticky Strip
Gift Box Top
  1. Use Designer Paper cut 7 1/8” square
  2. Score each side at 2” to create a 3 1/8” square in the center
  3. Cut sides to create a “box” and adhere
  4. Add ribbon by adhering it on the inside edge and wrapping over top, tie bow and attach with Glue Dots

Coordinating Card
  1. Use standard card size 5 ½” X 4 ¼” with fold on left
  2. Use coordinating edge punch on top of designe paper, punch the entire top
  3. Attach DP to card stock to bottom section of card
  4. Add embellishment using cooridinating punches or stamps and ribbon.
